About Alina
Alina’s background is in biomedical research, but she has always loved food and cooking. While completing her PhD and post-doctoral work in the field of inflammation, Alina became fascinated by the connection between food, gut, hormones, inflammation and health. Inspired by the power of food to treat disease and support health and longevity, Alina completed further training in nutrition science and dietetics at the University of Queensland and became an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Nutritionist. She brings together cutting edge nutrition science and a sensitive, personalised approach to help individuals and families find a healthy, sustainable and enjoyable way of eating that works for them.

What Happens During a Session?
During the initial consultation, Alina will ask you about your health- and nutrition-related concerns and what outcomes you would like to achieve. In order to accurately determine the root cause of your concerns, she will collect detailed information about your symptoms and medical history, so bring along a list of any medications/supplements that you are taking and any recent blood test results that your GP has on record.
Alina will also ask about your eating and cooking habits, so it is beneficial to write down what you eat for a few days prior to the session. Other questions may cover your sleep, physical activity, and work and leisure pattern. Alina will offer effective dietary approaches to treating your particular health concern, explain how they work, answer any questions you have, and let you decide how you want to proceed. You will leave your initial consultation with a clear sense of direction and the first simple and practical steps that you can begin to take to achieve your goals.
Ongoing review consultations will be recommended, as creating healthy habits is necessary to achieve health goals. During review consultations, you will celebrate the wins, address any challenges, and make course corrections. Come prepared with any questions that arose during your experiments with new lifestyle habits and don’t be afraid to report challenges, as they are a natural and expected part of meaningful change. As a guide, clients usually consider a total of eight consultations over 6-12 months.
How much does it cost?
Initial Consultation
An initial consultation with Alina is conducted in two in-person appointments – a Nutrition Assessment valued at $380.00 total. The 1st appointment allows Alina to look at your medical history, lab results, and to establish goals. Following this, Alina will analyse your diet diary and any other relevant information, in preparation for your 2nd appointment, where the diagnosis and plan of care is discussed and implemented. For best results, your appointments are required to be attended 1-week apart.
The $380.00 must be paid-in-full at the 1st appointment, which will cover the two Nutrition Assessment appointments, valued at $190.00 each. Please note that if you have a Medicare plan, it is only possibly to process your rebate on the date of your appointment, as per the Medicare rules. As such, your Medicare rebate for your 1st appointment will be processed on that appointment date, followed by the 2nd rebate on the date of your 2nd appointment. We are unable to process both rebates togther, regardless of both appointments being paid-in-full on the 1st appointment date.
Subsequent Consultations
Following the Nutrition Assessment, Alina recommends a following 5 sessions over 3 to 4 months, to allow for success in achieving the desired results. As such, Alina offers an Implementation Program as the next step following the Nutrition Assessment. This consists of 5 sessions, for the price of 4, valued at a total of $997.00, which is to be booked and paid-in-full upon the first appointment. A one-off subsequent consultation is valued at $250.00.
Can I claim on my Health Fund?
As you are seeing an Accredited Practising Dietitian, private health rebates are available and depend on your health fund and level of cover.
You may also be entitled to a $60.35 Medicare rebate per visit. To check your eligibility, talk to your GP about an Enhanced Primary Care Plan.
